Roots from Pindus, Inspiration for Today
It all began in Rentina, Karditsa, a picturesque mountain village nestled in the peaks of the Pindus mountain range. Growing up there, we learned firsthand the true value of nature, purity, and genuine care.
We remember our parents, every spring and summer, respectfully and patiently gathering the earth’s gifts: herbs, fruits, and spices. It was the essential preparation for the harsh winter, their deep concern to ensure that the household and the children lacked nothing. Yet, their love didn’t stop at our doorstep. Our family always made sure to share these goods with neighbors who were alone or unable, teaching us early on that food is, above all, an act of solidarity and giving.
The “Busy Aunts” of Our Childhood
During the cold winter days, life moved next to the lit fireplace. There, amidst playing and reading, we stood by our mother—our very own true “busy aunt”—helping her knead bread, bake homemade sweets, and prepare warm, invigorating herbal infusions. Through these everyday moments, traditional recipes, authentic flavors, and a pure way of living took deep root within us.
Today, the Busy Aunts company was created precisely to honor these women. The women who kept tradition and warmth alive with their own hands. Our brand, Renteana, proudly borrows its name from our homeland, Rentina. It is a tribute to the village that served as our starting point for creating modern nutritional products, rooted in the purity of that era, with a deep desire to pass this precious heritage on to future generations.
